Formation of District:
During reorganisation of states, the hill areas of Punjab were merged in Himachal Pradesh. Kullu became part of Himachal Pradesh on 1st November 1966.

Lahaul-Spiti and Kangra districts forts North and North-Eastern boundaries. On the East and South-East lie Kinnaur and Shimla district
