Formation of District: 
Una came into existence on 1st September 1972 as result administrative reorganization of Kangra district Una and Amb sub-tehsils were carved out to give new shape to the district.

Boundaries: 
It is surrounded by Kangra Hamirpur and Bilaspur district in the North-West and South respectively. On its West lies Hoshiarpur district of Punjab.

1540:-   Sher Shah Suri ordered his able General Khawas Khan to bring Nagarkot and other Hill areas under his subjugation. Khawas Khan succeeded in his mission.
